Hey All,

How can you tell between a female molly and platy? They kinda look the same
to me (on website pictures).

Reason i am asking is that i suspect i was sold a platy instead of a molly
:(

I will try and get a photo up here to help ID it.

Thanks.

Mollies are wider across the mouth than platys, their scalation is different
and they have diferent body proportions. The dorsal fin has a longer base.
I know, no use if you don't have another to compare ;o(
What colour is she?

Platys and low pH problem? (too long) - I want to apologize in advance for the length of this, but I'm just worried about the first fish I've ever owned, a group of 5 'sunset' platys. Beginning about a week ago, all of the platys are showing varying degrees of roughed-up-edness. *shrug* ..

Bully mollies - I have 4 mollies in with 2 angel fish and it seems that the mollies (one silver one in particular) likes to herd them into a corner. Is this common? Should I let the behaviour be? or should I try to move the angels into my 10 gallon that houses 2 male..
