I can't speak directly to diamond doves cause I've always kept pigeons.
In pigeons, though, I don't believe the youngster is weaned by two
weeks of age.
I guess my advice would really be influenced by a more precise
definition of "being picked on". What were the parents doing to the
baby that makes you think they were harming it?
I'm sure there are others frequenting this newsgroup who might be better
able to tell you the difference (if there is one) between the behavior
of a pigeon and the behavior of a dove in this particular circumstance.
I don't think there would be any difference but I could be wrong.
