We got a visit from our Visiting vet yesterday.
Dog #1 has this issue where she does not appear to be in any pain at all and
runs like the dickens all over the house, but when she walks, her back feet
tend to flop around. Not her legs, mind you, her foot, from I guess you'd call
it her "heel" down. She doesn't have the best "knees". She is ten pounds, which
is on the high end of normal for a minidox, but if you use the "stand over your
dog and see if it looks like a sausage, if so, it's fat" approach, she appears
underweight (only sausage-ness is in her dachshund shape), which is why I don't
think the issue is her weight, though she is on a diet. Could it be her age
(she is seven), is this common in dachshunds, or is this because she was, from
birth, a "pet quality" dachshund rather than a "show quality" dachshund?
Dog #2 has two issues. He's a tubber (14 lbs, minidox), but right now the vet
is not so worried about that because he does not have the leg issues of his
sister. He is also rather muscular. He's got this lump above his eye, halfway
between his ear and his eye. It's a bit smaller than a pea. I've never touched
it (the thing skeeves me out), but from how my parents describe it, it moves
with the skin (therefore it is not a bone growth). The vet seems to think it is
a foreign body granuloma. What is this and does this go away? My dog tries to
swat his lump off.

and the music turned to swing
and the tall handsome wonderful person
spun me around
and we made beautiful music
with our laughter
