Or how I got snookered by the UHF.

I may have mentioned this before, but for those of
you who did not hear this, Jump chases Merlin to
get my attention because he realized that I would
give him a treat if he would stop chasing Merlin.
Merlin needs all the hair on his butt that he has.

Today, Jump went after Merlin and I was kind of
suspicious. As I watched Jump and Merlin zig zag
between the chair and table legs, I realized that
although Jump was nudging Merlin's rump when he
caught him, he was never actually nipping him. Of
course I yelled "Jump, stop it... I'm getting
greens." I pulled the Tupperware from the
refrigerator only to see the two of them sitting
attentively watching me extract their treasure
chest from the refrigerator.

Yup, there they were, the two of them, sitting
side by side, all pretense of hostility vanished.
Two little heads moving simultaneously watching
the results of their charade come to fruition.

I looked at the two of them and said "I've been
had!"

When I see how much love & respect they have for
each other, I feel we have much to learn from
them! They have a pretty tight set of rules for
quarreling. However, they have rules on making up
as well.

Humans should wash their faces, instead of saving
them! [my profound statement for the evening]

When I checked on them tonight, they were laying
side by side at the top of their cage on a narrow
platform only eight inches wide. Eyes closed. Asleep.

couldn't have said it better myself. i thought my cat was still pissed at
me for bringing home a puppy chihuahua. i let him smack her because he's
old and she needs to learn from him to stay away from him... then today i
realize he has never used his claws on her. ever. and today i catch him
PLAYING with her.

They sure are very manipulative :)
What a cute little story Professor...

This is SO true, I have always thought the same and also many times said
that they make me be a better person...does it make any sense? It does to me
:)

Take care,
Shan

Rabbits learn so quickly. Jessie taught me that this morning. Jessie has a
bad habit of bogarting the bowl when I give them pellets in the morning.
She sticks her head in it and won't move. Quark pushes and shoves, but
can't get past that rabbit head barricade.

This morning I took the bowl from Jessie and gave it to Quark so he could
get some food. She lay down and sulked. When Quark had a few pellets, I
returned the bowl to Jessie.

After that, she was the most polite rabbit, taking a pellet and then letting
Quark get one. She seemed to understand that bowl bogarting was not
acceptable behavior.

Anita, Jessie, and Quark

I ended up giving Jump & Merlin separate bowls.
Merlin pulls his bowl into the corner, so Jump
can't steal. If he gets mad, he over turns Jumps
bowl, not his!

I like to use one large bowl. If I use small bowls, they eat what they
want, then turn the bowl over, spilling pellets everywhere. I use a heavy
crock (20 oz) and let them both use it. No spillage. The only time there
is conflict is when I first put in some pellets in the morning. I hope Miss
Jessie will be nicer now.

Anita, Jessie (yeah, right), and Quark

I think Merlin is into POWER LIFTING LOL
Since the three of us are getting along, he only
turns them over when they're empty. He's adjusted
to Jump being the senior in charge. Quite a lot
for Merlin to swallow. Jump is kind to him. :)
