Hi Everyone!
Thanks for all the good wishes for Cocoa's journey. I'm now at my
brother Derek's apt, on his 'puter.
Cocoa's car ride went ok, though he seemed stressed a lot of the time:
nose going a mile a minute and hot ears. I'm so glad we got the air
conditioning fixed. It was a very hot day. I was glad I bought the
little fan too.
At first he stayed in his carrier, but then he needed more air flow
and decided to take his chances out on the seat.
He ate and drank lots and would pee when I put him in his litter box,
but NO POOP! I was very worried and kept trying to get him to go when
we would stop the car for breaks, but no way was he pooping in the
*this isn't my comfortable home* car. It was the most harrowing ride
for me because I started to get very worried and wondered if I was
doing my little buddy in. I must have driven Ray nuts, as I was
sobbing at some points. Can you believe that?? Just a *little* too
worried there, but I didn't know how much a bunny can eat and not
poop, or if he would end up with stasis.
When we arrived at my mom's, I got Cocoa's cube condo set up complete
with bunsonal fan, night light and sheet canopy; he seemed to like it.
Soon he was settled in and finally pooping EVERYWHERE! My step dad
said he better not find one poop outside the pen, but I know Cocoa
just had a bit of a back log.
My mom's cat Danny was somewhat interested in the boy, but the
funniest thing was that he kept going into Cocoa's pen to eat his
grass. YUCK! He would spit it out and leave cat saliva on it, so I had
to make sure to throw it away...LOL
Cocoa is really loving the large yard and massive veggie and flower
gardens. I have to keep a close eye on him because he disappears in a
moment behind the shrub hedge or pole beans. He loves it though, and
it makes me think he must be very bored at home with the same old
yard.
Of course my mom and probably the rest of my family thinks he is being
way too treated like a king(yeah, I heard the words "he is only a
rabbit" pop out of her mouth...*gasp*), but I say there is nothing
wrong with taking really good care of him. He's my kid afterall :)
So, that is the 'long' scoop. I've been snapping photos of Cocoa's
vacation that I'll share later.
Talk to y'all soon! Hope all the power is back on where you are. So
far there has been no trouble here.
God Bless,

Arlette,
I so identified with your concern for Cocoa on the way down.
I am so glad to here he has settled in and "let go" in his new space.
I'm glad the sweetie is enjoying the garden, too.
Give him a nice nose rub for me, okay?
Nona

Hey Arette!
Thanks for the great trip diary entry.
For sure, Cocoa was hold his poops!
Bucky used to do that when we lived
in a hotel for a year.
He would only poop in his cage when I
took him to work everyday.
You might want to bring some of his
old poops and pee back in the litter
box when you return home so, he knows
it is OK to go.

hey cocoa, agent morgan here..............did i read pole beans?!!! boy are
you in for a treat. those are the best things in the world to eat. i only
get them when my slave slices them and removes the big bean seed inside.
make sure you sample a bit of those while you're out in that garden.
if you need help with that cat there, you might want to hop onto your
uncle's puter and send a quick email to arwen and sproing. i'm sure they
can make it from one part of canada to another pretty quick.
whatever you do cocoa, make sure arlette thinks you're in distress. it
always works around here...........i get treated like the QUEEN i am ;o)
