Hello all -

I just found this group and feel that I've barged in, and will now
read posts to get to know all of you.

I had fun clicker training with my dog, and decided to try it with my
20-year-old yellow naped amazon. I don't know what to use as a
treat. What is quick to eat but irresistible? I tried teeny bits of
potato chips, my bird's favorite treat, but he was too interested in
the clicker and dropped them as soon as he picked them up.

Ooh, that does sound tempting. But for clicker training it has to be
something small so it can be eaten quickly, so they get the idea that
a treat comes when they hear the click. Too much time in-between
means their attention will be focused on the treat instead of the
clicker. Besides, too many cashews and my boy will lose his figure.

Since I posted the original question I made some birdy corn bread
which he seems to like. I'll try crumbling that up and see how it
goes.

I'll tell you something a clicker does - drives me insane! The next door neighbour has one for her dog.

A lawyer is an expert on justice in much the same way your average hooker is an expert on love.
