Archived from groups: rec>aquaria>freshwater>cichlids (more info?)

5 yrs ago I had 3 55 gal tanks and a 75 gal tank with cichlids in them (red
devil, Oscar, Jack Dempsey). I enjoyed the fish so much. But due to life
getting in the way I ended up selling/giving away my tanks and fish. I've
regretted ever since not just somehow putting the tanks in storage or
something. I've been planning this past week on getting another tank, I miss
those personable cichlids. I think I'll start with a 55 gal and 2 babies.
I've read different places recently that the Midas and Red Devil are the
same fish? Somehow that doesn't seem correct to me. Is it?
I know alot of people don't like the Blood Parrot fish (and they're entitled
to their own opinions) but I'm thinking of getting a pair of them.

are they the same fish.....
hmmm that depends where you live!
Here in Oz our 'red devil' are a mix of godknows how many fish but prob at
least the citrinela and midas.
That said there are so many colour morphs and locality types of red devils
that I am sure there are many more species than we are seeing.

Kinda a super aggro fish....
without being too bias, why not get something nicer?
