Hi!
I found a mineral block for small animals, in the week. The girls have
been eating it but I am planning on transferring them from Hamster mix to
Rat mix and was wondering how many days should I mix the Rat mix in with
the Hamster mix before I change the girls completely onto Rat food?

I will keep sunflower seeds and peanuts for a treat.

I will let you all know how the girls do on the Rat food.

Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't worry too much about changing their diets, as long as its nothing
too radical.
simply going from hamster to rat food wouldn't bother them at all in my
experience, but if you are apprehensive, simply put a small amount in their
hamster food each day until after a week it's all rat food (a week is a long
time in the life of a mouse!)
I don't really buy hamster/rat food etc to feed them all the time, but
prefer to use one small bag mixed with a bag of wild bird seed and a large
bag of rolled oats (30p from asda!) and all mine do very well on this mix,
along with fresh veg 2 or 3 times a week and the odd slice of brown bread.
Too much green veg can give them diahoreah, but in summer they will really
appreciate a few dandelion leaves (you may still find some in the garden
now) but make sure they're clean before you give them to your mice as they
may have weedkiller/pesticides on them.
