Over the last six months our female has progressively lost her vision. In
April we noticed that the left eye had a noticeable cataract and the right
eye was slightly cloudy. By July it was obvious that she had lost all
vision in the left eye. Now she is all but blind in both eyes. I think she
can see light and maybe some movement but nothing else.
I have done some research on cataracts and living with blind dogs. Our vet
didn't seem too concerned about the situation, and said that treatment would
be of little benefit. What I have read seems a little more optimistic.
I would be interested in any comments on the subject. I am particularly
interested in comments from people who have first-hand experience with
cataract surgery on their dogs.
