Greetings, My cat has a urinary problem. This is the third time it happens, and back to the antibiotic until he is good! Vet. says it's common in cats, but, how can I make him good? Is there a way to prevent it from happening? Thank you very much. Pedro Pereira
« do NOT feed him fish food. Stick to quality foods that the first ingredient is either meat or chicken.. or talk to your vet about getting prescription food especially designed to help cats prone to.. »

« Diet is by far the most important factor. Make sure he is fed a good quality tinned food as dry feeding is one of the major causes of urinary problems. -- Bob. When the cat's away there are fewer h.. »

I had to bring Elwood into the emergency clinic tonight. It started when I got home this afternoon, I noticed he was kind of crawling around, and crying. « Blockages are more common in male cats fed dry food. Probably- at least until the crystals dissolve. Then you should be able to maintain him on a good commercial canned diet. Just make sure the ve.. »

Abernathy is pretty healthy again. Today his urine was rechecked and the red and white blood cells are gone - yeah! He does still have some struvite crystals, but not as many. So, the vet would like us to feed him food that acidifies his urine. He hated c/d. Any suggestions? I've been feeding F..
