My cat caught a mouse and it has a broken leg i have had it for about 3
hours now in my old fish tank. I have never cared for mice before and
my cats are good hunters so if i let it go i dont know if it will
servive. I dunno if it is a girl or boy or anything but he/she is
draging his/her leg around and i am hopeing it will heal then i will
let him or her go. Any suggestions on ways to help the leg heal??? or
how long it will take??? or if i do let him/her go will it be able to
survive in the wild again or should i let them go now??

Thanks thats really helpful. He doesnt seem to be in shock he has been
investigating everything and chewing things he did have a nap earlier
but that could just be because he had been running away from my cat.
his leg isnt bleeding he is just dragging it behind him but he is able
to scurry around. he hasnt drunk yet i dont think.

Nope, that's perfectly normal. He's making himself at home. Other
than his leg, he sounds like a healthy and well-adjusted little
creature. >> Stay informed about: My Cat Caught a mouse |

He'll be fine. He's just looking for somewhere that feels safe.
My mouse loves toilet paper tubes and cardboard egg cartons. Both
offer shelter, as well as something fun to shred with their teeth. >> Stay informed about: My Cat Caught a mouse |

That sounds about right, but depending on what type of break it has, will
depend on its recovery. Is it an open fracture? Can it move easily? Has it
had anything to drink? You need to be looking out for signs of shock, which
are dehydration, tiredness, lack of appetite. Some wild mice don't do very
well in captivity. You will also need to be really careful about keeping
your hands clean, they do carry some diseases that can be passed on to
humans and other animals.
