Post subject: Cast Licking
Archived from groups: rec>pets>dogs>behavior (more info?)

Our golden mix just had sugery for elbow dysplasia and he will not stop
licking the cast on his leg. We have tried the following: Bitter apple,
texas pete, cayenne pepper, and wrapping the cast with bandanas. He is
extremely scared of the lampshade around the neck. We have ordered a
neckbrace that will prevent him from doing too much more damage to the cast.
It probably won't come till next week sometime. Any suggestions?
