Is my Black Moor sick? - Hi guys, I had posted before, I'm working with my first tank ever, a 55 gallon tank with goldfish. I've been reading as much as I can, but not finding answers to quite My black moor is about 4-5" long, and he's been in my tank for less than..

Injury to Black Moor. Do I need to do anything? - My Black Moor managed to squeeze himself down beside my fake tree stump and got himself caught there. I freed him and moved the stump to avoid further problems. All seemed well. However, a few days later it became obvious that he has scrapped himself..

Black Moor Bullies - Prior to this weekend I had 2 orandas (each about 6in) and one black moor (also about 6in). I added a new, small black moor and now the two of them are picking on the weaker oranda - he's stuck at the top, but otherwise healthy. I've never seen this..

Black Moor care - Any tips in caring for black moors? Preferred food, pH, temp, etc... Also I heared that many black moors lose their color over time. Any food/diet to avoid this? Thanks, E.Otter

Having successfully kept my first Black Moor alive and well for a month it
was time to add another to the tank.

Not wishing to introduce unforeseen problems with the new fish I decided to
quarantine for a few days.

Knowing the tap water was heavily chlorinated I bought a gallon bottle of
mineral water and after getting to room temperature introduced the fish into
it.

This was yesterday evening. Fish appeared to be ok. Fish ok this morning.
Returning home from work this evening the fish is dead and most of the
colour has gone and now almost golden in colour.

Have I been naive about the water or could there be another problem ?

Thanks

You should never use mineral water. Go to the shop you bought the fish
from and ask for chemical to treat tap water

Bottled water has an unstable PH, tap water with dechlor should be fine in
most cases. If you do use mineral water or RO water you need to add
minerals back in.

You should also take a look at above post "fellow fishes for my
goldfish" just in case you may end up overstocking. As an aside lower
quality black moors turn gold when still alive. I guess it's normal
enough for fish to change colors when they die though.
