Archived from groups: rec>pets>dogs>rescue (more info?)

Deuce is a 14 year old neutered male beagle currently residing in a
no-kill shelter (SPCA of Tompkins County, in Ithaca, NY). He has been
there since February 16, 2005. He's a great guy and would do well with
a retiree or anyone who would like a mellow fellow who still loves his
walks and can do an endearing sit-up trick. He gets along great with
other dogs and cats. His elderly owner could no longer care for him,
and a family with two young kids adopted him (for 6 months) but they
aren't very "doggy" and they were disappointed he didn't "play" with
the kids and also he developed an anal gland problem while with them
(drags his butt b/c it itches.) He also was a "farm dog" for many
years, and is great at ridding the place of pesky rodents. He is great
on a leash, and is a mellow, non-barky guy; he was an outdoor dog for
many years but because of his age is better off as an indoor dog (he
loves to lie curled up on his bed in the sun). Please contact the
Ithaca SPCA if you think you would like to meet him and give him a
home: (607) 257-1822.
