Pigeons are flying rats, ferchrissake. Filthy, disease-carrying,
shit-spewing vermin. And like any other vermin, they need to be wiped
out. How? I couldn't care less about the details. Shoot 'em, poison 'em,
zap 'em with high voltage, fling nets over 'em and sink 'em in the
nearest river, send out hordes of schoolkids to grab 'em and
individually wring their necks for a nickel bounty each, whatever it
takes. Just kill the damn things however is most convenient. And good
riddance!

Did I mention that I've got absolutely no use whatsoever for pigeons,
beyond targets that are handy for keeping the gun sighted in?

Good on ya, Pennsylvania. DAMN good on ya! At least you've got the smart
to realize that trash is trash, and should be eliminated.

What did pigeons ever do to you to engender such hatred? Like humans,
they can spread disease and create mess in large concentrations, but
that's not a reason to wipe out either species, IMO.

My Coopers has the pigeon population in our neighborhood under control. Ditto
for the doves, I am sorry to say. But that's as it should be. Nature is the

Pigeons, are as mentioned disease carriers. There are SEVERAL documented cases
where they were the contributing factor in the deaths of people. One such case
that comes to mind happened down in Miami, Fl. A man who was cleaning their
droppings from a sign got sick and died, TWO of the nurses working his case also
got sick and died.

When it is breeding season you can follow a flock to their nests pull a couple
of eggs incubate them until the hatch, draw a blood sample and it WILL already
be infested.

Most of your large cities "employ" hawks to control the pigeon population. WHY
would they do that IF pigeon's didn't present a real health threat???

Besides that, they are not native to the US and are of no benefit.
