Another UK Company closes account with HLS

PLUMB CENTER NO LONGER SUPPLYING HLS - WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

Responding to concerns raised by SHAC ( Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty),
Wolseley Centers Ltd issued the following statement:-
Wolseley Centers Ltd is a supplier of building materials and equipment For
purposes such as heating, construction and maintenance of buildings.
Wolseley Centers supplies to businesses throughout the commercial and
industrial sector, and to the public. Following concerns expressed to
Wolseley Centers by members of SHAC, Wolseley Centers has decided it
will no longer supply to Huntingdon Life Sciences.

SHAC responded with the following so that everyone is 100% clear:
We need an assurance from Wolseley Centers Ltd and Plumb Center that the HLS
contract has been severed with immediate effect.
We also need an assurance that HLS will not be supplied via any 3rd parties
or agents.
We need a specific guarantee that the local Plumb Centers to HLS will not
supply them directly or indirectly.
We need a statement that Plumb Center will not supply HLS in the future or
renew their contract.
As we were lied to by your company after our initial enquiry, you will
understand that we need a statement that is full and unequivocal.
When we receive the full statement we will publicise it on our website and
contact local SHAC groups to inform them, but in the meantime the week of
action against Plumb Centers nationwide will continue.
We wish to assure you that SHAC only encourages peaceful and polite
demonstrations and calls/emails etc.

Responding to your email below containing requests for further assurance:
Wolseley Centers informed Huntingdon Life Sciences yesterday of their
decision to close the HLS account. The decision does have immediate effect.
Wolseley Centers have also confirmed that they will not enter into any
agreement with HLS that would result in HLS being supplied with products
from Wolseley Centers via a third party or agent. The local branches to
which you refer are part of Wolseley Centers and have been instructed
accordingly.
Wolseley Centers feel that they have responded fairly and reasonably to the
concerns expressed by SHAC and also in awareness of the diversity of views
among the wider public on the issues raised.
In the circumstances, given that any SHAC members demonstrating would be
doing so with the objective of gaining a decision which has already been
taken and of which HLS has been informed, Wolseley Centers reiterate the
statement supplied yesterday,with the addition if you wish of the points
above, for communication to SHAC members and local groups.

Another supplier down for HLS. That's what happens when you get caught out
over and over again for animal cruelty, fiddle experiments and have a
criminal record from a court of law in Britain.

Thanks to the Plumb Center and Wolseley Centers for reaching a compassionate
decision and severing HLS's contract.
