We've had this pair of female gerbils for 22mths now living happily in a
glass tank. A couple of days ago they started to fight - seriously. In a
tight ball and drawing blood. We managed to separate them in time and they
have survived with no obvious permanent injuries. I have split the tank
diagonally to separate them.

Can we ever reintroduce them. I know that 2 gerbils that have drawn blood
never get together but these two have been together for all their lives.
Has anyone had any similar experience? What did you do?

Many thanks

Are they in heat? Use a screen to divide the cage. They may start
getting along which means you can put them together but you may have
to keep them apart from now on

Gerbils and coconut - Hi I wondered if it were ok to break open a coconut to give to our gerbils. I think its ok to give them a shell for their teeth, but is coconut meat too oily? Also, my partner is anti me giving them anything but "gerbil" food ie packet food for...

Gerbils - favourite treat? - Hi, I have a mad guinea pig here who is head of the household, and he would kill for a sprig of parsley - just mention the word and he squeaks madly and runs and waits by the fridge. But recently I adopted two little gerbil ladies, and I'm wondering...

leaving gerbils at home while on vacation - My family are going away for a week at Christmas. We have three female one-year old gerbils. If we can't find someone to leave them with or at least to check on them, is it okay to leave them alone with sufficient water and food for a week? gerbilfan

Gerbil teeth - Hi I checked the teeth on my gerbils today and i discovered that they were really yellow/oransje. Is that normal? Beate
